Obviously, I don't host all the great H/Hr fics out there.  Not even close.  ;)

I'm very, very picky about the H/Hr I read.  A lot of it I read is okay, with the characterizations and motivations passable, but not always spot-on.  Every now and then, I come across a story that just makes my jaw drop (in a good way), and it's those I'm going to link to here.  :)

Afterwards, by Genevieve.  Probably the single most in-character H/Hr fic I have ever read, at least in recent memory.  Set at Harry's 16th birthday, it stays amazingly in character and actually makes the idea of a first kiss this early very plausible.

The Sound of a Kiss, by Genevieve.  Follow up to 'Afterwards,' set a few years later.  (Warning: Some chapters of this story are NC-17.)

A Dose of Reality, by Athena Arena.  Fifth year AU fic; a dinner of poisoned dumplings alters Harry's sense of reality, transporting him to a world where his worst fears all seem to have been realized.  The conflict is resolved a little too quickly, I think, but the author does a nice job of incorporating H/Hr's interactions into the plot.  The development of their interactions makes sense given the nature of the story, and the romantic tension is very slight without being overt and dominating the story.

Put Me In A Car, by parkergray.  You'll see a lot of stuff by parker recced on this page.  ;)  Short fic - on the train ride to Hogwarts at the beginning of sixth year, Hermione comes to a decision.  I think most of my favorite H/Hr stories are early- or pre-shippy H/Hr, where you really see what makes their friendship work, what it is about that friendship that can lead to a great romance, and this shortie fits this exactly.  You can picture a scenario exactly like this happening, Hermione doing exactly what she does here.  It's not even romantic - but it's brilliant.
