In the Hog's Head - OotP

+++++++

- The running theme with Hermione and Harry's glasses continues: she doesn't fix them, but she does hand them to him when he loses them several times in the film: after the first Dementor attack on the train, and when he loses them after the Hufflepuff Quidditch match.

- Hermione's voice is the first thing Harry hears when coming to after fainting on the train, and after he and Sirius are attacked at the lake.

- All three times after Harry wakes up from a Dementor attack (on the train, after Quidditch, and with Sirius at the lake), Hermione is the one closest to him, kneeling next to or over him.

- In their first Care of Magical Creatures class, Malfoy and the Slytherins mock Harry's fainting on the train; Hermione charges up and protectively grabs Harry's shoulders, steering him back to their group and throwing a filthy look at Malfoy.

- Hermione is terrified for Harry's safety when he approaches Buckbeak for the first time, grabbing Ron's hand in fear.

- When Ron and Hermione go to Hogsmeade, Harry having to stay behind, Hermione keeps glancing back at him, with one last lingering look and a sad wave as she and Ron go.

- After the Fat Lady's portrait is attacked and the school learns it was by Sirius Black, Hermione stares worriedly at Harry, and even begins to move her hand to his shoulder.

- After Malfoy and his crones are "mysteriously" attacked while teasing Ron and Hermione by the Shrieking Shack, an invisible hand starts toying with Ron's hat and Hermione's hair.  Ron looks clueless, but Hermione laughs and calls out for Harry to show himself.

- When Harry learns via eavesdropping in his Invisibility Cloak in The Three Broomsticks (?) that the reason his parents are dead is because their friend betrayed them, he runs away angrily, cloak still on. Hermione and Ron follow the footsteps into the snow to where still-invisible Harry is crying.  Ron tries to stop Hermione from going closer, but she pushes his hand aside and approaches anyway, feeling in the air for the cloak, then pulling it away to reveal Harry. He angrily confesses what he heard, while Hermione listens sympathetically.

- I suppose you might call this more of a Trio moment: when the trio thinks Buckbeak has just been executed, Hermione tearfully embraces Ron, but Harry places a comforting hand on her shoulder and leans against her as well.

- When Harry and Hermione try to get past the Whomping Willow to get to where Sirius has dragged Ron into it, they are attacked by it, instinctively grabbing each other's hand or arm protectively or in fear, each trying to keep the other from being hit by it.

-- When Hermione gets caught up in one of the Willow's branches and is being swung around, she catches hold of Harry's shirt as she passes, hauling them both into the air together.

- When the Willow throws them down into the tunnel leading to the Shrieking Shack, Hermione lands face forward fully atop Harry's back.  (This is more a pleasing Pumpkin visual than an actual moment.  ;))

- Coming out of the trapdoor at the end of the tunnel into the Shack, Harry gets out first, offering Hermione a hand to help her up; the two's hands stay clasped for several moments after.

- I don't much like including this one, since it comes at Ron's expense: in the Shrieking Shack, when they first see Sirius, Hermione instantly moves to shield Harry from him, saying book-Ron's line (*grumbles*) that to kill Harry, Sirius will have to kill them too.

- In the Shack, having lost his own wand, Harry leans in close to Hermione and sneaks a hand around her back and hip, reaching into her pocket to get her wand to attack Sirius.  Again, more a pleasing visual (and subtext ;)) than an actual moment, though it does further display just how comfortable these two are with physical contact with one another.

- When Hermione is fiddling with the Time-Turner before she and Harry go back in time, there's a cute bit where Harry tries to touch it, and Hermione slaps his hand away.

- Looking closely at the whirling background of the infirmary when Hermione first activates the Time-Turner, you can see Hermione sitting by Harry's bedside.

- Waiting in the woods to save Sirius, Harry confesses to Hermione that he thinks his dad conjured the Patronus that saved him and Sirius from the dementors at the lake.  He talks happily about the idea of living with Sirius, perhaps at some house in the country; Hermione listens closely, gazing at Harry with a soft smile on her face.

- When cornered by Werewolf-Lupin in the forest, Hermione clings to Harry in fright as he protectively wraps his arms around her.  After Buckbeak frightens Lupin away and they look up and see the fleet of dementors headed toward where Sirius and Past!Harry are at the lake, they're holding onto each other.
